Weekend at Moose Hillock Campground

It is the end of the school year and we are continuing our tradition of going on a family camping trip. My daughter has been asking to go to Moose Hillock Campground in Warner, NH and we finally make it. The campground is locate literally in the middle of now where. It’s about 30 minutes from Lincoln and 45 minutes from Plymouth, NH. This has been one of our most favorite camping spots. Below is highlighted why.

Amazing pool: If your kids likes to go down waterslides this pool is so much fun. With two different water slides and plenty of room for swimming kids can spend hours here. It is also heated for the days that are not quite summer like, like we had when we visited.

Walking Paths: There are three different walking paths. They called them hiking, but I consider them more walking.

My favorite was the path along the stream with small cascades and a natural pool at the end. Of course I jumped into the pool.

Spacious sites: We loved that the sites we relarge, flat and gave you plenty of privacy. If we are not camping with friends we like our privacy and these are the most private sites we have had. I just realized that I did not take a full picture of our site, but here is a picture of our camper and dog.

Events: my daughter had fun at the make your own sundae bar followed by a great comedian. There were events going on all Saturday, which is a nice way to break up the day.

In addition to what is mentioned above there is also a fishing pond, playground, various courts, an arcade, and store. The store had mostly sourniers.

We arrived on Friday and spend most of the day in the pool and walking around the campground. The campground is pretty hilly providing a good work out, not the best if you have young ones learning to ride a bike or not comfortable with their skills. On Friday night they kept the pool open later so those arriving in the evening could still swim.

Saturday we spent more time exploring around the campground and at the pool. We decided to head to Lincoln for lunch at the Mountain Burger. A great stop for good beer and a burger. Then we did a round of mini golf at Pirates Cover.

We headed back to our campground and stopped and enjoyed the views overlooking the presidential range.

That evening my daughter enjoyed the sundae bar and we enjoyed a comedy show, where my husband got to go up on stage to participate.

Sunday we headed home early due to incoming rain, but we enjoyed our short weekend away and would recommend others to visit. I know we will be back.
