I have been itching for some time in the city. Early on a Saturday morning, which happened to be Halloween, my husband and I headed to Boston with a couple things on the itinerary, but mostly to just do some exploring.
We parked in the Boston Public Garden Parking Garage. The garage was very clean, secure and only $20 for the day. We did a little wandering around Boston Public Garden.
Next was a walk around Beacon Hill with a stop at Beacon Hill Books and Cafe. The bookshop was so cute. I would have loved to try the cafe, but it appeared you needed reservations. From what I could see, it looked to be garden themed and so adorable.
Next was a walk around Beacon Hill to admire all the Halloween decorations.
The decorations were so well done.
A stop at Acorn Street, one of the most photographed Streets in America.
Next we walked towards the Christian Science Plaza. We stopped at Boon Plant Bar on Tremont Street. I could have brought half the store home with me. Since we were doing a lot of walking I did not buy anything.
Next was the Christian Science Plaza. Where there is a beautiful reflecting pool.
We went inside the museum to check out the Mapparium, which is going inside a big globe dated in the 1930’s. You could only go inside the globe on a tour and we didn’t feel like waiting for the tour, but it looked cool.
Next we went into the Prudential Center to wander around the stores. We found this amazing Italian Market, Eataly, with so many amazing foods and drinks. My husband and I each got a sandwich, the bread was so fresh and ingredients flavorful. It was so hard to pick something because everything looked so good.
Next we walked the Esplanade. So many people were biking, running and walking the path. The path is three miles end to end. We also saw people sailing and kayaking the Charles River.
We walked through Fanuel Hall. There was a lot of people dressed up for Halloween in this area. We stopped at Union Oyster House as my husband wanted some oysters.
They were ok, I feel like we could find better oysters in Boston.
Our next destination was the Seaport. I just love walking around this area and getting some views of the bay.
You cannot go to the Seaport without getting some fish ice cream from Taiyaki one of my favorite treats in the Seaport.
The Seaport was setting up for Snowport which I have been to twice and it’s such a fun market to explore.
It was a long wonderful day in Boston covering around 11 miles of wandering around the city.
