Head’s Pond
Distance: 1.5 Miles one way, may be option for more.
Difficulty: Easy
Multipurpose trail
Located on Route 3/Route 28 just past Pleasant Street in Hooksett is the trailhead for Head’s Pond. There is a good size parking lot, with a kind of steep decline to the trail. The trail is like a railtrail. It is a flat path that goes behind a neighborhood, and along Head’s Pond.
Past Head’s Pond is a trail to the right that goes out to a bunch of rocks that we saw people sitting on.
Back on the main path, the trail goes a total of about a mile and half to a sandpit and another pond.
It looked like the trail may go further, but we turned around at the sandpit.
This is a multipurpose trail for biking, running and walking. Also great for strollers. We also saw people fishing.
I really enjoyed this easy walk and the beautiful fall colors.
