Marjory Swope Park Trail
Distances: 1.5 Mile Loop, option for more
Difficulty: Easy side of moderate
Located on Long Pond Road in Concord, New Hampshire is the trailhead for Marjory Swope Park Trail. There is a decent size parking lot. The trail is a loop with option for further if wanted. I highly recommend looking at the map at the kiosk before starting out.
We started out on the blue trail off to the left. We followed the blue trail about a third of a mile until we got to the yellow trail on the right.
We followed the yellow trail until we got to the orange trail and took a right where we came to Gilfillian Rock then a few more hundred feet until we got to the Mountain Vista. Were there were views of Crotched Mountain, Mt. Monadnock and Pats Peak.
We backtracked past Gilfillan Rock and back to yellow trail. Where were hiked until we connected back to the blue trail. There was a small view of Mt Kearsarge.
We walked to the right and got to the last view of the hike. Vista of Penacook Lake. This was a beautiful view point with a bench to sit and enjoy the views.
After sitting and enjoying the views we continued the blue trail to loop back to the parking lot.
The hike was on the moderate side of easy with some up hill sections. The total hike was a little over a mile and a half. For being right outside of Concord it was a beautiful hike with some beautiful views.
