Ponemah Bog Boardwalk

Distance: .85 Mile Loop

Difficulty: Easy

No dogs

Boardwalk is slippery when wet.

Located on Rhodora Drive in Amherst, New Hampshire is a short trail that is mostly boardwalk. There is a small parking lot with picnic tables and educational information on the walk. The trail is a one way path and starts to the left of the parking lot. Follow the trail through the woods. It is easy to follow.

Before you reach the boardwalk there is a small lookout tower over looking the bog.

Once back on the trail you start walking on the boardwalks. Use caution as the boardwalk can be slippery especially after rain or a morning fog.

The boardwalk provides beautiful views of Ponemah Bog.

As you are coming out into view of the bog there is a side trail off to the left I recommend taking it to get more views of the bog. The trails loops around with a couple options for taking a seat and enjoying the views.

Over the years I have walked this trails dozens of times and despite being able to hear traffic from Route 101, I find the walk and bog so peaceful.

The trail loops back through the woods to the parking lot. The walk is only .85 miles long. No dogs are allowed and make sure you stay on the boardwalk to not ruin any vegetation.
